I’ve tried everything else, from rubbing salt, toothpaste, garlic, those sticks with some kind of liquid to stop the itchiness, multiple medications. The only thing that kind of worked was taking multiple medications, but then I’m sleepy, and I’m also popping tons of pills every several hours. Also, you’re carrying around a lot of kit. All the other things only worked for a short period of time, or just made it a little less itchy, so I had resigned myself to a life of itchiness. Plus, you know, since I react so badly to bites, mosquitoes are attracted to me and to no one else.
I stumbled across the heated spoon trick recently, and I was desperate, so the next time I got bitten, I was just outside the house, and I tried it. It actually worked for both me and my son. However, carrying an electric kettle and a spoon out in the field isn’t really feasible. So I got this nifty little item.
Unfortunately, for some bites, it does not seem to work very well, but I suspect that’s because they aren’t mosquito bites. When I have a confirmed mosquito bite, this item is amazing. I have only done the 3 second option because it’s already hot before 3 s, and I’m worried about burns. Plus, the 3 s option is enough if it’s a mosquito bite.
I just killed a blood sucking mosquito earlier today, and within a few minutes, I used this item, and it did try to swell up, but it wasn’t itchy at all. Now, a few hours later, the swelling and the redness is gone. No itchiness.
I totally recommend this item. It’s convenient, it’s portable, it’s easy to use. Plus, you don’t smell of garlic or have sticky fingers from smearing some weird paste that only sort of works for a couple hours at most, and then you’re stuck trying to use other home remedies for the next couple days. In addition to healing from the weeping wound that you’ve scratched open.
So just buy it.

Nothing has worked to help ease the irritation until this device. I have used it frequently. I am an avid gardener, so staying inside to avoid being bitten is not an option, and yes I even get bitten with bug spray on.
It doesn’t take the itching away completely, on all bites, but for the majority, using it once or twice on a bite greatly reduces the irritation. My husband has started using it also and agrees that it is very effective. He has a typical reaction to bug bites and it works well for him.
Be forewarned, the first time you use it, you will feel it. It’s mildly unpleasant, but after that initial use, you know what to expect. I still wince when I use it, but I will continue because it works. I do use it on the lower setting and that’s enough for me.
I would recommend it if you get bitten frequently. It’s totally worth it.
I DO NOT recommend using it on children!

When I get punctured by mosquitos in my native Texas, the bite area swells enormously & the itch is so intense I sometimes think I’m gonna lose my mind. Over the years, I’ve tried countless creams, ointments, gels, pills, etcetera; but this little heating device is the only aid that has every stopped the itch dead in its tracks!
I experienced one the worst mosquito attacks of my life back in October 2023, which is when I went searching for something that would actually help. On just one area of my body, & I counted them all out, there were over 100 bites, sometimes right next to each other – in just one area, that doesn’t count all the rest over my body. When I received this little miracle of science device, it sometimes took multiple applications of the heat to get the itching to stop, but stop it finally did! I could not believe it, but the proof was in me not itching any more. Thankfully, I have not had such a horrible mosquito attack like that again, but I have continued to use the Beurer BR60 Insect Bite Relief Pen.
I use it on any mosquito bite for the full 6 seconds, & yes, it does sting a little bit, but this device will never burn your skin. To me, it’s small price to pay; a little temporary, transient pain to solve what would be hours of intense itching. I don’t even care HOW it works, just that it works. I must say, I was shocked at just how effective the application of heat is at stopping the histamine overreaction my body has to mosquito bites. I only wish I had known this was an option years earlier.
I’ve been using the same device since October of 2023, I just replace the batteries when needed, but I can assure you, if my device ever stops working, I will immediately purchase another one. I will NOT be without the Beurer BR60 Insect Bite Relief Pen!
