But when she outgrew it, the weather was too hot for that heavier/plush one. I tried a couple other strappy harnesses, but this step-in version is so much easier to put on (though I have missed a leg in the right place a time or two.) It is very sturdy. I wish the Velcro wasn’t so noisy when taking it off, but she got used to that sound. We keep it on her most of the day since as a pup, she’s in and out a lot. The two metal rings at the top click a lot and we joke they sound like she is playing the castanets. I wish it was a little lighter, now that it is so hot, but we need to keep her in a harness still, especially when we meet up with people and other dogs outside.
I have a bunch of leashes, but I decided to get the combo and I really like the leash that comes with it. The handle loop is padded, making it much more comfortable to hold all the time, and it is very sturdy. I was thrown by the photo and thought I was getting the poop bag holder, too, when I ordered the combo. But when it arrive I read the listing and saw that the bag was separate and an additional $10.
I ended up finding a different poop bag – set of 3 — that is a much better bargain for $15.

For size — I was really surprised when I ordered a M for my not quite 15 pound pup. It was too small, so I had to order the Large. But it fits just right, even though she’d a fairly small Sheltie and only 10 months. If you have a bigger dog, you’ll really have to figure out the best size.

I found this one from Voyager and got a medium. He’s 17 pounds and it fits well. There are no buckles or straps to pull for adjustment; the only adjustment that can be made is at the Velcro closure. I like that feature, but it does mean you should measure your baby first. I like that it’s secure even when he decides he wants to start pulling. I got a good value with this item, since you’re getting both a harness and leash! I bought this in February 2025, and I noticed that the stitching for the Velcro strap is completely undone! He’s a little guy and his momma is lazy, so it’s not like this harness went through some adventures. So durability of this item is questionable. It still works and is secure, so I’d still recommend it. Russell on the other hand grudgingly wears it, but he does that with every harness I’ve put on him. This one is the better option because he just needs to get his arms in. I don’t think he liked those harnesses that have to go over the head.
