- SandyP5.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy, easy assembly and good price!Reviewed in the United States on July 16, 2025Size: 18-InchVerified PurchaseI recently purchased this umbrella stand to use in my veggie garden. I was skeptical at first thinking it was not going to be heavy enough to hold the umbrella. But the composite material is much heavier than I anticipated. The design is simple but attractive with a scrolled metal look. Easy to put together and it took less than 5-10 minutes to have it put togther completely. There are different inserts to hold the umbrella pole based on the size and the tightening knob holds it firmly in place.
If you are looking for an eye-pleasing, heavy umbrella stand this is it!

Combined with the fit of the Plywood pre-drilled hole this is the perfect combination for a sturdy shaded solution with this particular dining set. I assume it fits most others even though I only have experience with my round table. The dark finish with design is great looking, even expensive looking dare I say. My wife approves!

One person found this helpfulHelpfulReport - techtime4.0 out of 5 stars Base is rust-proof, umbrella tube and parts are not. Could be perfect with some tweaks…Reviewed in the United States on November 18, 2013Size: 24″Verified PurchaseI’ve bought three of these thus far. Two I bought about 2.5 years ago and one more recently to replace one from 2.5 years ago because it snapped at the base. The base is rust proof, but I’ll tell you what isn’t and it could be argued is the most important part, the tube/stem that the umbrella goes into. The umbrella tube is made from what seems to be a fairly thin metal that is painted to match the base. The tube is held to the base with a bolt, a fender washer, a lock washer and a nut. These pieces plus the tube itself plus the dial/screw piece that tightens down the umbrella pole all rust. To be fair I’m using these ten feet from a chlorine pool in salty ocean air, so my rust experience and conditions, could be worse than most. On the one that broke, the tube snapped at the base from corrosion and I suspect an extra shove from someone’s feet;) I see the other original stand is experiencing the same corrosion. I’ve been thinking to coat it with a stop rust-type paint, but it wouldn’t look very nice to do it on the outside, so you would have to drop it down the tube or remove the tube or do it at assembly (this would be the best time). Also, when it rains, some water can go down the tube, so you have water just sitting on the metal which wouldn’t help it either since there are no drain holes. One other issue I’ve experienced is the tube starts to loosen over time from the base (likely from people moving the table and base around a little) which then results in the umbrella standing at an angle. Between the bolt pieces being corroded and the head of the bolt being down a 12″ tube, it isn’t the easiest thing to retighten. I had to buy a super long socket extension to reach the bolt head. I’m not sure there is a perfect umbrella stand out there, but this one could pretty much be there with stainless and/or galvanized steel and/or a heavy coating of rust prohibiter. The color (brown with gold faux paint hue) of the stand has pretty much held up. The base over time looks mostly dark brown. Really the only unsightly thing over time is the rust. The base doesn’t seem to mark up the pool deck and with the umbrella going through a table into the stand it seems to stay put for tropical storms. The reason I replaced the broken one vs. getting a different stand is because I already had one (I need two) and didn’t feel like reattempting fate to find the perfect umbrella stand. If they break again I may get a welder buddy involved and make the perfect stand since the base doesn’t have any issues (of course I would have to attempt to match the color, but maybe just paint it all chocolate brown).

I just received this today and what a great product. Easy to put together and got my umbrella and it looks great. I have an older version of this same umbrella base for over 5 years and it has not failed me yet. It was a great price and I would recommend this product.

One person found this helpfulHelpfulReport - Michelle2.0 out of 5 stars Not SturdyReviewed in the United States on June 11, 2025Size: 18-InchVerified PurchaseThis base is so heavy, I feel bad for the delivery guy.
Update: It’s been one month and my umbrella has fallen over dozens of times. Even when the umbrella is closed it falls over. My umbrella is wind resistant. The fault lies squarely in the base. The bottom of the base itself is solid and sturdy, but the pole supporter is cheap and flimsy, not attached to the base, and rocks back and forth no matter how much you tighten the bolts or use the adjusters. The adjusters pop out when the umbrella turns in the wind. There is only one tightener screw for the pole, it needs two, it has never held my umbrella tight. The bottom bolt keeps coming loose with every passing breeze. The only way this umbrella base might work is if I add a table to secure my umbrella at the mid level, and even then, the tightener screw and bottom bolt will come loose and my umbrella could possibly blow away, still. If the pole holder was attached to the base most of the issues would be solved. Bad design.
