The batteries, which were included, were charged up enough upon delivery that I was able to see the mesmerizing starburst pattern right away. I was concerned they were going to look cheap but you done even notice them (the posts) because you’re so mesmerized by the warm yellowish starburst pattern. The brightness is adequate to gently and safely light the pathway to my front door.
