I haven’t tested them in larger spaces.
Running at 600w, the lowest of the three settings, they do the job and barely bump the heating bill in my all-electric house. Also, when the power toggles off the heat continues to radiate from the fins. Much more efficient than the 1500w wall units that have only one power setting.
The lack of flammable/sparkable heating elements is a plus. Assembly out of the box was very easy–putting the casters on–and the first heat cycle produced no smells, as often happens with new space heaters. (Good reason to always beta test them in a well vented space.)
The unit is easy to move, weight-wise, though the casters get cranky on thickly piled carpet. No problem rolling it acros looped area rugs.
If you run it on the highest setting and have small humans running around, you’ll want to be conscious of potential for injury. But this is a basic, simple, time-tested, and proven space heating solution. Glad Pelonis continues to make this simple, no-Borg, all-manual model.

Warmed my master bedroom and bathroom with ease and probably could have handled quite a bit more. I have a ceramic heater designed for warming a greater amount of space and it cannot do it as quickly or quietly. The rooms are warm all over too, not just one spot near the heaters. I put some tape over the light so I could sleep easier, but even that is probably not to bright for most people. Highly recommend.

We figured this new Pelonis would be as good as our last pelonis. We were wrong. Even with the thermostat on maximum it would turn off and let our bedroom get cold. When it did heat up it did not stay hot and the heat output was so low I could touch the heating fins with my bare hands. We thought maybe it just needed a few hours to break in to work properly. I know dumb idea, but we really wanted it to work. It doesn’t so we are sending it back. Unfortuately the auto return system seems made to discourage returning defective items. Hopefully we can get it returned by talking directly to Amazon. Because of the auto return system we do not want an exchange. We want a refund.
